A Beginners Guide to Home Health Virtual Course

When: Saturday, April 5 - Sunday, April 6, 2025 | 8:00am - 12:00pm ET Both Days

APTA Home Health is pleased to announce the launch of a virtual course for entry into the home health setting, “Moving-In: A Beginners Guide to Home Health”. This virtual course will consist of two half days - 8 hours total of virtual synchronous training in the critical clinical skills needed to work in the home health setting.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for students in the final 6-9 months of their DPT program who are curious about the home health arena and whether it might be a good fit for them. Also welcome are recent graduates with their license who are also considering home health, and finally we welcome individuals thinking about moving into home health having worked in other arenas.

What Is Home Health?

Home health care is the provision of skilled therapy services in the patient’s place of residence. While the majority of patients are senior citizens, there also are pediatric patients with developmental disabilities and other conditions, and individuals of all ages in between who need rehabilitation because of injury or other causes. Home care may actually be provided in the patient’s residence, the caregiver’s home, a hospital emergency room, skilled nursing facility, residential facility, group home, hospice, or elsewhere in the community.
